Minutes
of Baldwin Hills ARC Meeting 3/7/01
The third 2001 meeting of the
Baldwin
Hills Amateur Radio Club
was called to order at 1947 on March 7, 2001, by the Vice-President,
Juan, KB6KMU. Also present were Hugh, NV6H, the
Secretary, David, N6HGJ, our awesome Membership Chairman
and Treasurer; and Ed, WA6MDJ, the Chairman of the Board.
10 members were in attendance.
Old Business:
- The Secretary read the minutes
of the January meeting, which were accepted with corrections,
and published to the Club web site. He also reported that ARRL
dues were going up in July.
- The Treasurer reported that we have $400
in the Club account.
- The Membership Chairman (same guy), reported
that from 10 to 20 renewal notices were sent out, and around
6 came back, about the same as last year.
New Business:
- There was a discussion of the
Club domain name on the Internet.
- The Vice-President reported on the Club's
participation in the Los Angeles Marathon. The 220 and 440 repeaters
were used. It didn't rain.
- Ed, KD6LT, described the last meeting
of the Los Angeles Area Council of Amateur Radio Clubs (LAACARC).
There is a Section Manager net at 2000 local, on 3965 LSB. We
now have an Emergency Coordinator for the entire SW Division.
The Council has a new web site at http://qsl.net/laacarc.
- Dieter, KD6LVW, reported that 22 took
tests at Jun's, 21 passed something, and 20 upgraded their licenses.
This was the last testing session at Jun's, because P.J. finally
rented the room. We need to find a new place, or go back to the
old system where BARC did it.
- Ed, WA6MDJ, discussed the repeater
status. The mountains were not accessible due to weather. Also,
it's time to think about the Dayton Hamvention again. You can
see Ed for applications and room info.
With this, we stood ADJOURNED at 2022, until
April 4, 2001.
