of Baldwin Hills ARC Meeting 1/3/01
The first 2001 meeting of the
Baldwin
Hills Amateur Radio Club
was called to order at 1933 (on time!) on Jauary 3, 2001, by the
Vice-President, Juan, KB6KMU. Also present were Hugh, NV6H,
the Secretary, David, N6HGJ, our awesome Membership Chairman
and Treasurer; and the Chairman of the Board, Ed, WA6MDJ.
The President, James, N6KWI, arrived soon after, and took
over the chair. Attendance was 11 members.
Old Business:
- The Secretary read the minutes
of the December meeting, which were accepted.
- The Treasurer reported that we have $349.27
in the Club account.
New Business:
- Dieter, KD6LVW, reported
that 32 took tests at Jun's, and 28 passed something. No Club
VEs were present at the session.
- Ed, KD6LT, described the last meeting
of the Los Angeles Area Council of Amateur Radio Clubs (LAACARC).
The ARRL SW Division Convention for 2001 will be October 7-9
in Riverside. The Phase 3D satellite is reviving, sort of, ham
radio is growing, the novice bands are being retained for now,
and the ARRL would like FCC to reconsider Part 15.
- ED, WA6MDJ, reports that the Hollywood
phone line is working again.
- Greg, KD6AIS, thanked the President,
James, N6KWI, for helping him troubleshoot amateur TV
at the Rose Parade.
- Dieter, KD6LVW, reported that Club
member ZZK is now a TASMA board member at large.
With this, we stood ADJOURNED at 2033, until
February 7, 2001.
