Minutes
of Baldwin Hills ARC Meeting 11/1/00
The eleventh 2000 meeting of the
Baldwin
Hills Amateur Radio Club
was called to order promptly at 1930 on November 1, 2000
by the Secretary, Hugh, NV6H. The President was away on
important Club business, or at least a nice tropical cruise, but
he had e-mailed an agenda for the night. Also present was David,
N6HGJ, our excellent Membership Chairman and Treasurer.
The Vice-President, Juan, KB6KMU, and the Chairman of the
Board, Ed, N6MDJ, arrived soon after.
Old Business:
- The Secretary read the minutes of the October
meeting, which were accepted.
New Business:
- Acting under instructions from the President,
the Secretary took suggestions for a location and date for the
Club Christmas party. The Grinder and the 9th seemed popular,
but then the Grinder became less popular, and when Ed showed
he said he'd arrange something, so the matter was left unresolved.
- The Secretary then opened nominations for
the upcoming Club elections. There were no new ones. It does
not appear as if we have any contested elections that will require
the distribution of ballots.
- Dieter, KB6LVW, reported on the Southern
California Digital Communications Council, which finally met
and promptly voted to disband. New digital coordinations will
go through the appropriate organization on each band. The Council
will leave its Web site up for an undisclosed time, at http://www.qsl.net/scdcc.
- Dieter also reported that 30 people had attended
the testing session at Juns, and all but one had passed something.
There were no VE's present from the Club.
- The Vice-President took the gavel, and welcomed
all to the meeting.
- The Chairman reported that all repeaters
worked, sort of, and that more maintenance was scheduled on Mt.
Harvard and Santiago Peak to eliminate some problems, and to
put in some more links.
- The Membership Chairman had no changes or
new information. The Vice-President thanked Samir for bringing
the refreshments.
With this, we stood ADJOURNED at 2011, until
December 6, 2000.
